Convergence of computer and information technology has made education more interesting. With the wide spread of computer networking the pace of imparting knowledge is very fast and one can be educated anywhere at any time. Therefore, information technology has often been introduced into well-established patterns of working and living. To impart quality education, computer plays a vital role today and it spreads to all domains and sub domains of computer science such as database management, software engineering, multimedia technology, artificial intelligence, data mining and knowledge discovery. Multimedia approach pave a new way to make education more interesting with the introduction of audio and video instructions that involve picture, sight, sound for educational purposes. The growth of audio visual education has reflected developments in both technology and learning theory rather than single modality. The pace emerged all these in modern education to impart quality education. All these happened because of rapid increase in communication research, increased access to information technology in home, at work and in educational establishments. In addition, it introduced the concept of any time learning, any where learning, and collaborative learning to the society.

The International Journal of Modern Education and Information Technology (IJMEIT) is a biannual, open access, peer reviewed journal which covers all frontier issues in modern education, information technology and its applications. The journal will serve as a platform for researchers and publishes high quality academic research (both theoretical and empirical) and application papers in modern education.
